i’ve been busy!

i wore a cardigan last thursday for mr. rogers.

i sent out the invitations to my sister’s bridal shower. more importantly, i finally found a place to have it.

i flirted shamelessly this weekend, and set a flirty foundation for possible future making out.

i got the book persepolis and am already halfway through.

i’m still working my way through the first season of the wire, but i think i only have a disc or two left before season two and another level of cracking out. i can’t believe what just happened in the last episode i saw. well, of course i can. it’s the wire.

i ate good food on easter with a friend’s family, although i was determined to do laundry and be alone all day… i didn’t, and i wasn’t. and it was better than being by myself, even if her sister did make me look at a box full of uncut school pictures of her kids over the past… i’d say 15 years? maybe more. i got free lunch and a cupcake, too. jackpot!

music i’ve been listening to lately:

manman. they are incredible live, so full of energy and just very boisterous. their new album is called rabbit habbit, i believe, and it’s fun. kind of gypsy noisy funky fun stuff.

the war on drugs. there’s a song they have called arms like boulders and there’s a lyric in it i absolutely love, something about how your god is a catapult, waiting for the right time to let you go. mmm. i like.

sisters. a local band with some folks i know in it, i guess it seems i should automatically like them for that reason alone, but they are really pretty damn good. they rock, hard, and are getting better and better live.

in “happy news about my life” this week, i got word that i will be getting the apartment i wanted. it’s in the same building, but a couple floors below on the front side of the building. this means hardwood floors, a little closet in the bathroom instead of nothing, street views, 25 sq ft more, and a warmer apartment in winter! mine’s currently on the top floor, and with no insulation from all sides, it get ridiculously cold in the winter. we’re talking in the 40s. ugh. not gonna miss that, let me tell ya!

more soon, i must go to my boxing class and get out the last week’s aggression. i’ll return before too long to post some photos and tell you some more random shit. yeah!
