today we had a special election to replace a congresswoman who died within the last couple months. even though it’s just a special election with one vote on it, i still voted. i like voting. my polling place is across the street from where i live, so that makes it easy, but something in me always feels pleased walking in, voting, and walking out. do it, peeps. it’s easy, it’s your privilege, it’s your right, it’s your job as an american. just think of people around the world who want to vote and can’t. how are you gonna justify to them that you got caught up in your tv show? or it was too rainy? c’mon, now. this is important, yo! even if the election itself may not be hugely important (like today- who’s gonna fill this spot til may when we’ll vote again?) it’s like using your turn signals all the time- even when nobody’s around- or saying please and thanks to everyone you encounter. it’s a good habit to be in. it’s easier to do things if they’re habits. and the next time something rolls around, you do it, because you always do it.
mmm, good habits.
